About Me

Hey you! My name is Erin Coney Walker, or as I like to call myself: "The Effulgent Doctor." You might be wondering what "Effulgent" means. Don't worry, I am going to enlighten you!

Effulgent is an adjective which means to shine forth brilliantly. I learned this word on a vocabulary test during my freshman year of high school in my english class and ever since then it has became a word I live by. 

​

I am a public speaker originally from Flint, Michigan and attended school on the east coast. I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a historically black college (HBCU) called Hampton University, located in Hampton, Virginia. While matriculating throughout my pre-pharmacy curriculum I took journalism, marketing and economic courses because my true passions are in the arts and journalism area. Not only did I take courses in these areas but I also started a photography and sushi business on the side for my peers! I suppose you could say I am an entrepreneur at heart too!

 

I was resilient and often times wanted to change my major from pharmacy to journalism but stuck with the health profession so that I would have a back up plan. However, my talents are geared toward creativity and I am excited to create and innovate my own career pathway.

Since moving back to my hometown of Flint, Michigan I have gotten involved with local boards such as the Crim Fitness Foundation and I also sit on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee for the American Red Cross to name a few. 

​

I want the word "Effulgent" to not only reflect who I am, but also reflect who you are and how you can "live life effulgently," in your day to day endeavors. 

​

I hope my personal website not only inspires you through my content but I also hope what I put out into the world inspires you to "shine with great effulgence!"
